In Feng Shui, bronze Bagua (Eight Trigrams) corner-filling plaques are used to mitigate the negative effects of missing corners in a house. According to traditional Feng Shui theory, each direction of a house corresponds to a different trigram and represents a different member of the family. If a corner is missing in a certain direction, it may negatively impact the family member represented by that direction; therefore, it is necessary to balance this by filling in the missing corner.

Each direction not only corresponds to a hexagram, but also represents a specific member of the family:

- True East - Zhen Gua: The eldest son

- Southeast - Xun Gua: eldest daughter

- Due South - Li Trigram: Middle Daughter

- Southwest - Kun trigram: Mother or female head of the household

- Due West - Dui Hexagram: Young Girl

- Northwest - Qian (☰) trigram: Father or male head of the household

- Due North - Kan Trigram: Middle Son

- Northeast - Gen trigram: Youngest son

How to use the corner-filling plaque:

1. Use a compass or floor plan to confirm the location of any missing corners in the house.

2. Select a corner-filling plaque corresponding to the trigram based on the direction of the missing corner.

For example, if the due west direction is missing, choose the corner plaque representing the "Dui" trigram.

3. Place the corner-filling plaque in the area of the missing corner. The area around the corner-filling plaque should be kept clean and free of clutter to ensure unobstructed energy flow.
